Requirements
- Bring 5+ years building external-facing developer products such as APIs, SDKs, or developer platforms widely used by engineers.
- Have strong API and SDK design instincts and experience shipping libraries developers integrate with.
- Demonstrate strong TypeScript skills.
- Use AI actively in your workflow and be interested in agentic systems.
- Show initiative in identifying and shipping improvements to the developer ecosystem.
- Be comfortable owning a product line at a small company with fluid team boundaries.
- Have strong written communication skills for documentation, changelogs, and SDK reference material.
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed and simplicity.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the public REST API, including API design, ergonomics, versioning, errors, and rate-limiting behavior.
- Build and maintain client SDKs across TypeScript and Python, and lead upcoming SDK launches.
- Ship and expand the Agent SDK for multi-step, agentic workloads built on OpenRouter.
- Treat documentation, examples, and starter repositories as products and improve them as entry points to OpenRouter.
- Make developer-facing surfaces agent-friendly for AI coding agents using the APIs and SDKs.
- Collaborate with DevRel, Product, and Platform teams to identify developer ecosystem gaps and address them end to end.
