Requirements
- Have 2+ years of experience designing and implementing robust backend services using Kotlin.
- Develop scalable and secure APIs that integrate with internal and external systems.
- Know API lifecycle management best practices, including versioning, documentation, and deprecation strategies.
- Use Kotlin-specific frameworks and libraries to build backend solutions.
- Have experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies.
- DynamoDB proficiency is a nice to have.
- Kotlin proficiency, or Java proficiency with willingness to learn Kotlin, is a nice to have.
- Familiarity with AI-augmented development workflows and tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Codex is a nice to have.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver features for Toast’s payments products.
- Develop and implement automated test suites for shipped code.
- Roll out features to customers and monitor their success.
- Collaborate with UX and product managers to define and design features.
- Partner with teams across Toast.
- Work with experienced engineers on design and code reviews.
