Requirements
- Have 7+ years of experience designing and building scalable backend services in a modern production environment.
- Have strong proficiency in Go.
- Understand distributed systems and service-oriented architecture.
- Be well-versed in SQL and relational database design.
- Have general knowledge of frontend development and be able to perform basic tasks in frontend applications.
- Have excellent English skills.
- Be based in a European time zone.
- Be based in Europe, including the UK, and have a valid right to work.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience, is desired.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain core APIs and backend services.
- Own the operations and monitoring of production systems.
- Integrate third-party systems and APIs into the platform.
- Own the design and implementation of new features and services.
- Identify best practices and create or suggest standards for the engineering department.
- Document and demonstrate solutions using documentation, diagrams, code comments, and clear code.
- Mentor more junior colleagues and onboard new joiners.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions.
- Present insights, achievements, and results in relevant meetings.
- Occasionally propagate backend changes to frontend applications.
