Requirements
- Have 5 to 10 or more years of experience building production backend systems, APIs, services, or distributed systems.
- Bring strong product judgment and customer curiosity.
- Be comfortable working through ambiguity in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Have experience collaborating across technical and non-technical teams, including external partners.
- Experience in fintech, accounting, payroll, payments, banking, compliance-heavy products, or complex third-party integrations is valuable.
- Experience with Python, Go, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, or GCP is helpful; an exact match is not required.
- End-to-end project ownership and deep expertise in complex systems are valuable.
Responsibilities
- Own accounting integration projects from problem definition and technical design through launch, iteration, and ongoing operation.
- Build reliable, scalable backend services for accounting and financial workflows.
- Support expansion into adjacent product areas.
- Translate ambiguous product and business problems into simple, durable technical solutions.
- Learn customers' accounting and financial operations needs and apply that context to product and engineering decisions.
- Partner with Product, Design, Operations, Compliance, and external providers on complex initiatives.
- Balance fast delivery with the reliability required for financial workflows and money movement.
- Raise engineering quality through clear communication, system design, code quality, and mentorship.
