Requirements
- Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Have 2+ years of professional backend engineering experience, including working on services in production.
- Be solid in Java, Go, or another modern backend language.
- Have a good understanding of REST APIs, relational databases, SQL, and basic concurrency.
- Have working knowledge of transactions.
- Have exposure to caching with Redis and messaging with Kafka.
- Be comfortable with Git, Docker, and CI/CD.
- Have exposure to a cloud platform such as GCP or AWS.
- Bring care, curiosity, eagerness to learn, and clear communication.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs for accounts, balances, transfers, and payments.
- Deliver well-scoped tasks from implementation through production.
- Write unit and integration tests for delivered work.
- Follow money-handling practices, including exact amounts, idempotent requests, clear transaction states, and audit trails.
- Help integrate with banks and payment partners.
- Help with daily batch and reconciliation jobs.
- Take part in code reviews and give and receive feedback.
- Investigate bugs and production issues with senior engineers, and fix them with tests that prevent recurrence.
- Write technical notes and documentation for completed work.
- Communicate progress and raise questions and risks with the team, Product, and Operations.
