Requirements
- Have a few years of engineering experience.
- Bring strong back-end software engineering capability.
- Have experience with Ruby on Rails or a comparable framework.
- Value clean code and sensible trade-offs.
- Understand the value of testing.
- Be comfortable investigating production issues.
- Be interested in practical uses of AI and apply independent judgment to AI output.
- AWS, Terraform, Docker, Buildkite, Datadog, Rollbar, or content-heavy systems experience is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of features and well-defined projects from the first conversation through production.
- Build reliable, well-tested software designed to last.
- Learn the platform and the people who use it.
- Investigate production issues, identify why they occurred, and fix them properly.
- Improve systems after resolving issues.
- Contribute to content upload, processing, metadata, storage, distribution, and human and AI-assisted review systems.
- Experiment with practical uses of AI agents to write, test, and review code.
