Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in a senior architecture role spanning multiple teams, products, or shared platforms.
- Experience using architectural practice to deliver measurable business value and reduce unnecessary costs.
- Deep expertise in cloud-native and distributed systems architectures on AWS.
- Strong Java experience.
- Experience with SaaS, API-based, and developer-facing platforms.
- Proficiency in microservices, Kubernetes, event-driven architectures with Kafka, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Ability to apply capability mapping, ADRs, and C4 diagrams in practical, proportionate ways.
- Strong communication and influencing skills to align stakeholders and drive decisions without formal authority.
- Experience balancing architectural consistency with team autonomy in agile engineering organisations.
- Network APIs, AWS or Kubernetes certifications, and Agile methodology experience are listed as advantages.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve architecture strategy, reference models, and target states across Network Power Solutions.
- Shape technology direction through standardisation, simplification, and platform investments.
- Coordinate cross-domain architectural initiatives involving resilience, security, compliance, observability, and developer experience.
- Champion architecture practices and governance, including ADRs and Well-Architected practices.
- Partner with engineering and product leaders to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
- Provide hands-on support for complex architectural challenges.
- Communicate architectural vision and decisions to technical and business stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers and architects and contribute to internal communities and best practices.
- Use AI tools across design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation, and guide effective AI-enabled engineering practices.
