Requirements
- Bring 5+ years of experience building production services and APIs in a modern cloud environment.
- Have proficiency with Go (Golang) or be ready to ramp up quickly.
- Have experience designing, implementing, and evolving public APIs consumed internally and externally.
- Understand API versioning, backwards compatibility, authentication, and usability from real-world experience.
- Be familiar with microservices and cloud-native architectures.
- Have experience with containers and Kubernetes.
- Understand how to build observable and resilient production services.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across product lines.
- Be self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity in a remote startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve customer-facing backend services and public APIs.
- Ensure shared APIs and services work well for different products and customer segments.
- Own features from design through implementation, rollout, and iteration.
- Partner with Product Management and the Experience team to ship features.
- Create technical design documents and drive design plans.
- Help prioritize tradeoffs and ship roadmap work iteratively.
