Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial software architecture or technical leadership responsibilities.
- Track record of architecting and delivering large-scale production software across multiple products or platform areas.
- Broad full-stack engineering expertise covering frontend and backend development, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, highly available SaaS architectures.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented and modular design principles, and architectural trade-offs.
- Practical experience with distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native application design.
- Knowledge of authentication, authorization, identity management, access control, and secure application architecture.
- Experience designing and integrating APIs, shared services, and cross-product platform capabilities.
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational database architecture, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and modern deployment environments, including AWS, containers, and Kubernetes.
- Strong application performance, profiling, debugging, and reliability engineering skills.
- Ability to influence technical decisions and collaborate across engineering teams without direct authority.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex technical concepts to engineers, Product teams, and senior leadership.
- Ability and willingness to use modern AI-assisted development tools for research, architecture, coding, and technical analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive software architecture across product areas including privileged access management, browser extensions, and core security platforms.
- Establish scalable architectural patterns and technical standards for frontend, backend, client applications, and distributed systems.
- Lead architecture reviews and guide major technical design decisions across initiatives, products, and teams.
- Translate business and product needs into robust, scalable technical solutions with Engineering and Product leadership.
- Design systems and platform capabilities with attention to security, reliability, performance, extensibility, and maintainability.
- Shape architecture for APIs, services, authentication, authorization, data flows, and integrations.
- Identify architectural risks, technical debt, and scalability limitations, and develop remediation strategies.
- Build prototypes and reference implementations, and review critical code and design changes.
- Collaborate with Security teams on secure architecture, threat modeling, and protection of sensitive information and credentials.
- Mentor engineers, assess emerging technologies, and use AI-assisted development tools for research, prototyping, coding, debugging, and documentation.
