Requirements
- Bring 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant software architecture or technical leadership responsibilities.
- Have architected and delivered large-scale production software across multiple product or platform areas.
- Have a strong full-stack technical background across frontend, backend, APIs and distributed systems.
- Have experience designing highly available, scalable and secure SaaS architectures.
- Understand software design patterns, object-oriented and modular design principles, and architectural trade-offs.
- Have experience with distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture and cloud-native application design.
- Understand authentication, authorization, identity, access control and secure application architecture.
- Have experience designing and integrating APIs, shared services and cross-product platform capabilities.
- Know relational and non-relational database architecture, data modeling and performance considerations.
- Have experience with cloud infrastructure and modern deployment environments such as AWS, containers and Kubernetes.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Use modern AI-assisted development tools effectively for research, architecture, coding and technical analysis.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive architecture across PAM, Browser Extension and other core security platforms.
- Establish scalable architectural patterns and technical standards across frontend, backend, client and distributed systems.
- Lead architecture reviews and major technical design decisions for complex cross-product initiatives.
- Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical designs with Engineering and Product teams.
- Evaluate trade-offs across centralized and distributed architectures, monoliths and microservices, synchronous and asynchronous systems, and cloud-native deployments.
- Guide architecture for APIs, services, authentication, authorization, data flows and integration patterns.
- Build prototypes or reference implementations to validate architectural approaches and de-risk initiatives.
- Review critical code and design changes, and provide guidance to senior and staff-level engineers.
- Partner with Security teams on secure architecture, threat modeling and protection of sensitive data and credentials.
- Mentor senior engineers and influence technical direction across multiple engineering teams.
