Experience
3+ years of clinical informatics working directly with clinicians; 3+ years across clinical informatics, EHR build, or clinical product management
Required Skills
SQL

Requirements

  • Have clinical training (RN, NP, PA, LCSW, or similar) or 3+ years of clinical informatics working directly with clinicians.
  • Have 3+ years across clinical informatics, EHR build, or clinical product management.
  • Have hands-on experience building templates, order sets, or documentation workflows.
  • Be fluent in SQL and comfortable reasoning about clinical data, including encounters, problems, orders, and claims.
  • Have built at least one real project with an agentic coding tool such as Claude Code, Cursor, or a similar tool; prototypes that helped engineers understand what to build also count.
  • Submit a work sample; if the work is proprietary, write about a clinical workflow, what is wrong with it, and what you would change.
  • Write clearly for a remote team where most decisions are made in writing.
  • Understand how PHI, clinical safety, and documentation requirements shape product design.
  • Be able to collaborate with clinicians and engineers and explain tradeoffs.
  • Preferred: athenaOne experience, FHIR/HL7 interoperability, value-based care, quality measures or outcomes measurement, and home-based or complex care.

Responsibilities

  • Own the clinician's experience across athenaOne and the other tools used throughout the clinical day.
  • Design, build, and retire encounter plans, templates, text macros, order sets, and clinical content in athena.
  • Write the playbook for routine Athena administration for the support team.
  • Decide what belongs on the clinician-facing product surface and build a share of it.
  • Review workflows moving off Salesforce, determine what should carry forward, and ensure clinicians do not lose relied-upon functionality.
  • Build prototypes, tools, pipelines, or automations to show engineers what to build.
  • Work with clinicians after visits to distinguish workflow, training, and content problems.
  • Apply clinical judgment to protect PHI, clinical safety, and documentation requirements.
