Job Details

Have professional experience building and shipping production backend applications.
Bring strong programming, API, database, testing, debugging, and performance fundamentals.
Have experience with Ruby/Rails, Go, or another modern backend language.
Be able to take a feature from clarification through delivery and follow-up, working independently while seeking input when appropriate.
Use sound judgment about security, reliability, performance, maintainability, and operational risk.
Understand modular backend boundaries and the consequences of coupling.
Communicate clearly in writing and collaborate effectively in a remote, asynchronous environment.
Have practical experience with AI coding tools and be able to review and correct generated output.

Design, implement, test, and ship backend features and improvements with minimal guidance.
Write maintainable, secure, observable, and performant code.
Design and maintain APIs, background jobs, integrations, and bounded service functionality.
Work with data models, migrations, indexes, and query behavior.
Add and improve unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end automated test coverage where appropriate.
Review code for correctness, maintainability, security, performance, and operational risk.
Investigate build, test, deployment, and runtime failures at the feature boundary.
Identify technical debt and propose practical improvements.
Take part in on-call or operational support where the team's ownership model requires it.
Use AI productively in daily work and validate its output.
