Experience
8+ years in program or project management in engineering or technology organizations; 3+ years at a B2B SaaS company.
Required Skills
Jira

Requirements

  • Have 8+ years of program or project management experience in engineering or technology organizations.
  • Have 3+ years of experience at a B2B SaaS company.
  • Show evidence of building coordination tools and processes that continued to be used beyond your tenure.
  • Have experience in fast-growing or changing organizations where structure was still being defined.
  • Understand technical dependencies, architecture tradeoffs, and the software development lifecycle well enough to work credibly with engineers; a computer science degree or coding experience is not required.
  • Be an expert in Jira and comfortable administering it, with experience using dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Have hands-on experience using AI tools to automate tracking, summarize status, or surface risks.
  • Demonstrate influence without authority across senior engineers, managers, and product leads.
  • Adapt to different team methodologies rather than imposing a framework.
  • Follow through persistently while building trust and clarity, and write clear, direct status updates.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and helping define the role as the organization changes.
  • Preferred: experience in cybersecurity, defense, or other security-focused products; programs spanning hardware, software, and operations; director-level or business operations scope; Scrum, Kanban, or other agile practices; or agentic workflows and delivery-reporting scripts.

Responsibilities

  • Track every program that crosses squad or domain lines from kickoff through completion.
  • Map and maintain squad dependencies before work starts, and flag risks early.
  • Build the engineering status and visibility system, including what is tracked and how leadership views it.
  • Automate status, dependency alerts, and reporting using Jira, dashboards, scripts, and AI agents.
  • Run planning syncs, sequencing reviews, and written updates for cross-team communication.
  • Investigate stalled dependencies, connect the relevant leads, and escalate unresolved issues to the VP of Engineering.
  • Provide the PMO with accurate engineering inputs for portfolio-level reporting.
  • Support managers running quarter-long champion initiatives with lightweight tracking and goal reviews.
  • Measure whether coordination costs decrease as the team count grows, and adjust the system when needed.
  • Document cross-team processes so new squads can use them without a walkthrough.
