Requirements
- Extensive hands-on Microsoft Power BI experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Advanced expertise in data modeling and semantic model architecture.
- Expert-level DAX knowledge, including complex calculations and performance optimization.
- Strong hands-on experience with Power Query/M and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience integrating data from diverse enterprise data sources.
- Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, star schemas, relationships, cardinality, and model optimization.
- Proven Power BI performance-tuning experience, including DAX optimization, model-size reduction, refresh optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Deep knowledge of Power BI Service, including workspaces, apps, gateways, semantic model management, capacity, refresh strategies, governance, and administration.
- Experience implementing Row-Level Security and enterprise data access controls.
- Strong understanding of Power BI governance, security, compliance, and lifecycle management.
- Experience designing deployment and release strategies for enterprise Power BI solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI Project (PBIP), Git, source control, branching, versioning, and collaborative Power BI development.
- Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices in a Power BI or analytics environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain enterprise Power BI architecture, including datasets, semantic models, reports, workspaces, security, and deployment standards.
- Create scalable, reusable semantic and data models using dimensional modeling and Power BI best practices.
- Develop and review advanced DAX calculations, measures, and business KPIs.
- Design and optimize data ingestion and transformation using Power Query, SQL, and enterprise data sources.
- Analyze and optimize report, dataset, DAX query, refresh, and semantic model performance.
- Define Power BI Service standards for workspaces, administration, governance, capacity, and report lifecycle management.
- Implement security models, including Row-Level Security, access controls, workspace permissions, and data governance requirements.
- Define deployment, release management, and environment strategies across development, testing, and production.
- Establish PBIP, Git source-control, versioning, branching, and collaborative development standards, and support CI/CD and automated deployment.
- Review existing environments, advise developers and analytics teams, and contribute to BI strategy, governance, and technology roadmaps.
