- Bilingual (English/Spanish); written and verbal fluency in English and the target language(s).
Requirements
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have written and verbal fluency in English and the target language(s).
- Have a strong understanding of medical and educational terminology relevant to early intervention and CPSE programs.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to build rapport with children, families, and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
- Pass a qualifying criminal background check and driving record review.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Provide a current copy of all required health records.
Responsibilities
- Perform oral interpretation and translation for students and families during evaluations and other assigned times.
- Provide real-time interpretation during early intervention and CPSE assessments.
- Convey spoken language between English and the target language while preserving the original meaning, tone, and intent.
- Translate written documents, including report summaries and forms, as requested.
- Adhere to confidentiality requirements and professional ethics in EI and CPSE settings.
- Maintain a neutral and impartial stance during interpreting assignments.
