Requirements
- Have a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
- Have at least 5 years of experience in embedded software testing and development, firmware validation, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Have strong knowledge of BIOS/UEFI, firmware architecture, and server-platform validation.
- Have hands-on experience developing Python scripts, test automation frameworks, and automated validation solutions.
- Have experience with test planning, test execution, defect analysis, debugging, and software release qualification.
- Be proficient in Python; familiarity with C, Go, or other relevant programming languages is valuable.
- Understand embedded Linux, device drivers, computer architecture, hardware devices, and communication protocols.
- Be able to troubleshoot interactions between hardware, firmware, operating systems, and software components across platforms.
- Know the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and established software testing principles.
- Have familiarity with AI and generative AI tools for test design, debugging, automation, or AI-agent development; this is desirable.
- Have strong critical-thinking and diagnostic abilities for investigating complex technical issues.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to explain technical concepts and collaborate across engineering teams.
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability and contribute to technical decisions and quality improvements.
- Experience with fault-tolerant systems and high-availability architectures is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automated tests for firmware, embedded software, and server platforms.
- Create and execute test plans, protocols, and documentation for software features and system requirements.
- Validate BIOS/UEFI, firmware components, embedded software, and server platforms.
- Investigate defects and test failures, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Evaluate system designs and determine required coding, integration, and validation activities.
- Support end-to-end testing, defect tracking, and release readiness.
- Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, and development partners to resolve technical issues.
- Investigate complex system-level problems and communicate findings to support technical decisions.
- Improve automation frameworks, test methodologies, tools, and engineering workflows.
- Explore AI and generative AI tools, including AI agents, for test generation, automation, and debugging.
