Requirements
- At least five years of professional software development experience, with a strong background in backend engineering and production-grade systems.
- Extensive hands-on experience developing backend applications using Java and the Spring ecosystem.
- Solid knowledge of algorithms, programming languages, the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), networking, databases, and distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture and the ability to evaluate architectural decisions and their implications.
- Experience designing robust, observable, scalable solutions and coordinating implementations across components, services, and engineering teams.
- Regular use of generative AI tools in software development, with the ability to assess their benefits, limitations, and risks.
- Experience leading production support, coordinating incident response, investigating root causes, and conducting post-incident analyses.
- Ability to identify technical debt, recommend architectural and process improvements, and contribute to technical backlog prioritization.
- Ability to serve as a technical reference, support colleagues' development, and influence engineering decisions.
- Ability to explain technical decisions clearly, participate in peer review, and respond constructively to criticism.
- Ability to work independently, anticipate risks, manage complex initiatives, and identify opportunities to improve systems and processes.
Responsibilities
- Shape the technical direction of backend microservices and serve as the team's primary technical reference.
- Design and guide implementation of robust, scalable, observable, and maintainable systems.
- Coordinate complex solutions across components and teams, ensuring architectural consistency and reliable integrations.
- Identify technical debt and architectural risks, propose improvements, and prioritize the technical backlog.
- Lead complex cross-team initiatives from planning through implementation, coordinating dependencies and stakeholders.
- Evaluate new technologies and generative AI tools and help define adoption strategies.
- Implement tools, workflows, and engineering practices that improve developer productivity and delivery reliability.
- Share technical expertise, mentor colleagues, and communicate architectural decisions with clear reasoning.
