Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across email, phone, and video calls.
- Ability to work with customers, understand concerns, and handle sensitive payment conversations tactfully.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to develop practical solutions independently.
- Ability to handle challenging conversations and manage disagreements constructively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounts, prioritize tasks, track payments, and maintain follow-up.
- Proactive and able to take ownership of responsibilities without constant supervision.
- Previous accounting, accounts receivable, or collections experience is desirable but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret invoices, purchase orders, and contracts is an advantage.
- Familiarity with remote collaboration tools and independent work scheduling is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Contact business customers by email, phone, or video call to follow up on overdue invoices and secure payments.
- Maintain accurate records of collection activities.
- Build professional customer relationships and respond to billing and payment inquiries.
- Work with accounting and operations colleagues to investigate and resolve payment obstacles.
- Find alternative customer contacts when existing contacts are unavailable or unresponsive.
- Monitor purchase order schedules and follow up on missing documentation.
- Submit invoices through customer portals according to customer requirements.
- Create and maintain internal collections documentation.
- Prioritize collection activities, track outstanding tasks, and maintain follow-up schedules.
