Requirements
- Strong experience in backend engineering, technical leadership, and designing and implementing complex software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to guide technical direction across teams and remain accountable for architectural outcomes.
- Advanced knowledge of scalable architectures, including microservices, serverless computing, and event-driven systems.
- Knowledge of design patterns and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience designing and optimizing data models across relational, NoSQL, and graph databases.
- Understanding of Blue/Green and Canary releases, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Proven experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern cloud infrastructure practices.
- Expertise in logs, metrics, distributed tracing, fault tolerance, and resilience engineering; familiarity with Chaos Engineering and API gateways.
- Ability to evaluate technologies and trade-offs, balance technical complexity with business priorities, and justify decisions based on cost, performance, scalability, and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Define technical vision and guide architecture for products and long-term projects.
- Lead cross-team initiatives from solution design through implementation, launch, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate transformations, including decomposing monolithic systems into microservices.
- Establish and document standards for API design, service communication, data persistence, design patterns, and enterprise integration.
- Reduce system complexity, improve code quality, and incorporate security-by-design principles.
- Identify technical debt and risks, and break large projects into manageable releases.
- Improve development workflows, deployment strategies, and CI/CD pipelines; promote automation and optimize infrastructure costs.
- Guide cloud-native practices, infrastructure as code, containerization, orchestration, observability, and resilience strategies.
- Mentor engineers, support recruitment, and document technical practices and lessons learned.
