Requirements
- Have 6+ years of relevant industry experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a closely related field.
- Have strong experience designing and maintaining production-quality ETL or ELT pipelines.
- Demonstrate strong data modeling skills for business analytics and operational use cases.
- Have hands-on experience with Spark and distributed storage systems.
- Have strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one data engineering language: Python, Scala, or Java.
- Have experience with workflow orchestration or ETL scheduling frameworks such as Airflow.
- Have experience working with structured and third-party data sources, including reconciliation and transformation into warehouse models.
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Use sound judgment in data quality, documentation, ownership, and long-term maintainability.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable pipelines that ingest, reconcile, transform, and publish data for AirCover products and operations.
- Develop analytics-ready data models and metrics for executive reporting, claims and operations workflows, experimentation, financial reconciliation, and self-serve analysis.
- Partner with software engineers and external-data stakeholders to turn source-system behavior and partner feeds into trustworthy offline datasets.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, accuracy, and documentation across AirCover data assets.
- Improve pipeline reliability, maintainability, and observability through testing, monitoring, and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Analytics, and Data Science to define data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Influence data engineering tooling, standards, and best practices.
- Build foundational data systems that support new AirCover markets, products, and regulatory or partner requirements.
