Have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including autonomous ownership of complex, cross-team work.
Hold a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Bring strong front-end engineering experience with a modern component framework.
Have solid TypeScript or JavaScript skills and UI fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, and accessibility.
Bring strong back-end engineering experience in a modern server-side language.
Demonstrate relational-database proficiency, including data modeling, performant queries, and indexing.
Have experience designing and operating production APIs using REST or gRPC.
Be comfortable with Git, pull-request workflows, and CI/CD.
Angular, PHP/Symfony, Go, and MySQL experience is preferred.
Production experience leading a service migration between languages or runtimes is preferred.
Familiarity with Tera for server-side templating and application-level Docker and Kubernetes (GKE) experience are preferred.
Cloud-platform experience is preferred; GCP is preferred, with AWS or Azure acceptable.
Experience with an observability stack such as New Relic or Datadog is preferred.
Awareness of COPPA or FERPA is preferred; Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus.

Design and ship features end-to-end, from specification to production.
Make architecture, data-modeling, and API-design decisions; document trade-offs and align stakeholders.
Drive code quality through code review and testing across front-end and back-end systems.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code review and pairing.
Lead technical design reviews, RFCs, and architecture discussions.
Use AI-assisted development tools while holding generated code to the same quality bar.
Participate in production support, investigations, post-mortems, and systemic fixes.
