Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
- Typically 5–7 years of related experience.
- 2+ years of previous manager-level leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and coaching experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze and manage financial data and capital and expense budgets.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities and make timely decisions.
- Ability to prepare presentations and clearly communicate to executive-level audiences.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Availability 24/7 to support network emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Lead service delivery for the national network, customers, and enterprise business products and services.
- Manage a team of inside-plant and outside-plant technicians and oversee day-to-day operations.
- Manage the fiber optic plant and attached network elements, including DWDM, Ethernet, IP, VoIP, and SONET equipment.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and customers to test, activate, insert, and use network elements.
- Ensure teams complete provisioning, maintenance, mark-and-locate, preventive maintenance, and change-management work.
- Monitor performance metrics and analyze data to identify trends.
- Manage employees, contractors, vendors, projects, and direct-report time reporting.
- Set performance objectives, coach employees, and identify training and development needs.
- Enforce standards, policies, and processes, and improve departmental processes to support efficiency and network reliability.
