Requirements
- Have solid experience with at least one programming language; Go is used by the team, and Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar experience can transfer.
- Have experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and brainstorming through shipping a product to customers.
- Have experience developing software that runs in the cloud or experience in systems engineering.
- Have experience being on-call and following the DevOps model.
- Write clean, robust, performant software that is maintainable by others.
- Be familiar with observability systems and know when to use metrics, logs, and traces to debug problems.
- Experience with Kubernetes is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with queue systems such as the Kafka protocol is a nice to have.
- Experience with Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles is a nice to have.
- Exposure to microservices architecture, distributed systems, or infrastructure as code is a nice to have.
Responsibilities
- Influence the roadmap and work with the team to deliver and improve features.
- Drive projects from initial idea through operations after delivery to customers.
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems.
- Own the reliability, performance, and availability of services.
- Contribute to open-source projects beyond the team's direct scope.
- Participate in the team's follow-the-sun on-call rotations and take ownership of services.
- Support teammates, participate in design discussions, and collaborate with the team.
