Requirements
- Have 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Have experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
- Be proficient in Python or Kotlin.
- Be familiar with distributed systems building blocks and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Be able to turn business scenarios into solutions that interact with multiple software components.
- Write clear, well-tested, extensible code.
- Be comfortable navigating large codebases and debugging others' code.
- Provide feedback to other engineers through code reviews.
- Proactively seek feedback from teammates, managers, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Break larger projects into individual tasks and deliver them in multiple phases with support from the tech lead and manager.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Articulate technical constraints and partner on decisions that consider risks and trade-offs.
- Create and monitor metrics, escalate issues when needed, and support team operations and availability.
- Contribute to on-call efforts and participate in interview and team growth activities.
- Design and implement features for the underwriting platform across Affirm Card, e-commerce sites, and the Affirm app.
