Requirements
- Have 3+ years of commercial backend development experience.
- Have strong Python 3 skills, including asyncio, type hints, Pydantic, and pytest.
- Have production experience with Go.
- Have experience integrating third-party REST/GraphQL APIs at scale, including OAuth, rate limiting, retries/backoff, idempotency, and pagination.
- Have hands-on AWS experience, particularly Lambda, S3, SQS, Kinesis/Firehose, and Secrets Manager.
- Have experience with Docker and working knowledge of Kubernetes.
- Have strong SQL skills, including PostgreSQL and analytical warehouses such as Redshift with large, partitioned tables.
- Have experience with Kafka or a similar streaming/messaging system.
- Have good testing habits and experience with code review and CI/CD.
- Have hands-on experience building AI agents, including LLM APIs, tool use/function calling, MCP, prompt and context design, and evaluating agent output.
- Be comfortable debugging production issues end to end from logs and metrics.
- Have good written and spoken English for working with global product and support teams.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain integrations with social platform APIs.
- Develop backend services in Python and Go.
- Work on streaming data pipelines using Kafka and AWS.
- Modernize legacy services and improve performance.
- Handle production alerts and investigate data issues.
- Build AI agents and tools, including LLM-based agents and MCP servers, to automate engineering and support work.
- Use AI across design, coding, testing, code review, and operations.
- Collaborate with Product, Data, and other engineering teams.
