Requirements
- Have 6+ years of backend software engineering experience focused on enterprise-grade applications.
- Have 4+ years developing scalable, high-performance, high-availability microservices.
- Have 4+ years designing cloud-native architectures and implementing infrastructure as code.
- Have 4+ years of hands-on experience with relational databases and writing optimized SQL queries.
- Have 2+ years of Google Ad Manager or other ad server experience.
- Have 2+ years of front-end development experience using JavaScript, TypeScript, and frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Python 3; a coding assessment will evaluate this proficiency.
- Have experience with Elasticsearch or other cloud-native search technologies.
- Have hands-on experience using AI-based development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot to build production software and automate engineering workflows.
- Desirable experience includes observability and performance monitoring tools such as New Relic and Sentry, and containerization or orchestration platforms such as Docker, Amazon ECS, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud security concepts and protocols including OAuth2, JWT, HMAC, encryption, hashing, and secret management is desired.
- Understanding of digital advertising platforms and healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA and PHI is desired.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust backend systems and APIs deployed in AWS.
- Develop scalable, high-performance solutions that follow modern software design principles and meet business requirements.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and implement clean, reusable solutions across services.
- Ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of core platform services and APIs.
- Participate in Agile planning, retrospectives, and story grooming.
- Conduct code reviews, share technical feedback, and improve code quality.
- Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Security to support software delivery.
- Mentor peers and junior engineers through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Use AI-based development tools to accelerate development, generate and maintain tests, automate repetitive engineering tasks, and improve code quality and velocity.
