Requirements
- Bring substantial experience designing, delivering and operating production backend systems, with the judgment to lead complex work hands-on.
- Have strong experience building and operating production backend systems in Go.
- Have professional frontend experience with TypeScript and React or comparable technologies, and be willing to work across the stack.
- Have experience reasoning about distributed systems, including partial failures, retries, consistency and service interactions.
- Have experience with relational databases, including data modelling, schema migrations, query performance and safe production changes.
- Have practical experience deploying and troubleshooting containerised services and jobs in Kubernetes.
- Have experience managing cloud infrastructure through code and working with CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration and controlled rollouts.
- Be able to investigate production problems using logs, metrics and traces and turn findings into lasting improvements.
- Have a record of delivering projects end to end, clarifying requirements, making trade-offs and following through after release.
- Have experience working remotely with clear asynchronous communication and dependable collaboration across time zones.
- Write readable, well-tested software that other engineers can understand, maintain and operate.
- Be willing to participate in on-call and take responsibility for the production behaviour of the systems you build.
- Support colleagues through code reviews, mentoring and constructive technical discussions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and operate backend services and APIs for billing, rates, usage calculations, usage visibility and marketplace workflows.
- Build backend services primarily in Go and contribute to TypeScript/React applications.
- Improve billing and usage workflow correctness and reliability through validation, reconciliation, error handling and recovery.
- Replace recurring manual tasks with maintainable automation, operational workflows and controls.
- Maintain service infrastructure, including Kubernetes workloads, scheduled jobs, cloud resources and deployment configuration.
- Investigate production issues across application code, databases and infrastructure, and plan deployments, database changes and migrations.
- Deliver projects from requirements and technical approach through implementation, testing, rollout and production support.
- Collaborate with product management, Support, DealOps, GTM, infrastructure teams and adjacent AppCore squads.
- Share technical leadership through design discussions, code reviews, mentoring and practical improvements.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and improve dashboards, alerts, runbooks and recovery procedures.
