Requirements
- Have 10+ years of SAP experience, including 5+ years in a solution architect, enterprise architect, or lead architect capacity.
- Have led solution architecture or served as lead design authority for at least two full-lifecycle SAP implementations.
- Bring deep SAP S/4HANA Finance expertise, including the universal journal, general ledger, asset accounting, controlling, and public sector funds management.
- Have experience establishing and chairing architecture governance, including review boards, design standards, and formal decision records.
- Have experience designing SAP and non-SAP integration architectures using APIs, middleware, services, and asynchronous messaging.
- Have experience leading and developing architects or senior technical staff, including performance management and capability development.
- Have 5–8 years of people leadership experience managing other people leaders with a bachelor’s degree, or 8–11 years without a degree.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or meet the posting’s alternative professional-experience qualification; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Greenfield SAP S/4HANA experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with federal ERP modernization, SAP Activate, fit-to-standard and clean-core delivery, or SAP Public Sector Management is a plus.
- SAP or architecture certifications, government cloud experience, and familiarity with federal financial audit drivers are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end target solution architecture across the program’s financial process areas, integration, and legacy data transition.
- Lead, develop, and allocate the solution architecture team and coordinate architecture work across cloud, data, platform, and security domains.
- Chair the architecture review board and establish design principles, solution patterns, standards, and decision records.
- Enforce fit-to-standard, clean-core delivery and adjudicate requests for custom development or extensions.
- Direct design of the chart of accounts and financial data model.
- Govern integration architecture across SAP, extensibility, analytics, reporting, logistics, procurement, and personnel domains.
- Own non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, availability, recoverability, and resilience.
- Present and defend architecture at preliminary design, critical design, and production readiness reviews.
- Review design documentation for traceability from requirements through design to testing, and establish technical debt and architectural runway strategies.
- Mentor solution architects and senior functional leads and advise program and government leadership on technical trade-offs.
