Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience working on platform functionality, developer tools, full-stack products, or application platforms.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale technical projects from initial design through delivery.
- Strong background in API design and platform engineering, with an emphasis on developer needs and intuitive experiences.
- Familiarity with Go, TypeScript, GraphQL, React, Redis, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.
- Ability and willingness to work across frontend, backend, and infrastructure components.
- Regular use of AI-powered tools to improve development productivity, software quality, and engineering workflows.
- Experience mentoring engineers, sharing technical expertise, and improving software engineering practices and team culture.
- Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, explore ideas, and turn concepts into practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment with cross-functional teams.
- Preferred: contributions to open-source software projects.
- Preferred: experience with native mobile application development.
- Preferred: experience building applications using the Devvit platform.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve core platform services and capabilities for the developer ecosystem.
- Create tools, APIs, SDKs, and platform features for external developers.
- Contribute across frontend, backend, infrastructure, client-side, and full-stack systems.
- Help establish technical direction and architectural decisions for platform scalability, reliability, and growth.
- Lead technical initiatives from discovery and solution design through implementation, experimentation, testing, analysis, and launch.
- Translate product goals and developer needs into technical solutions and delivery plans.
- Review code, technical designs, product specifications, and user experiences.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, design, developers, and platform users to improve developer experiences.
- Promote developer-focused API design, usability, and documentation.
- Mentor engineers and improve engineering standards and development practices.
