Requirements
- Typically have 5–10+ years of relevant software engineering or platform engineering experience.
- Have hands-on ownership of production infrastructure and systems.
- Have practical experience designing, deploying, and operating AWS environments in production.
- Have experience with Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Understand distributed systems principles, including message ordering, idempotency, retries, at-least-once delivery, and recovery from partial failures.
- Have production PostgreSQL experience, including connection pooling, schema migrations, query and performance optimization, and backup and restore procedures.
- Be able to read, understand, and navigate TypeScript and Node.js codebases; familiarity with NestJS and modern backend architectures is required.
- Have experience operating high-traffic, highly available systems and independently debugging incidents.
- Be comfortable using AI coding assistants and integrating AI-enabled tools into engineering workflows while maintaining quality.
- Work remotely from within Europe and be located within three hours of Central European Time.
Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and operate AWS services across compute, messaging, storage, networking, and observability.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated releases from code commit to production.
- Manage production PostgreSQL environments, including connection pooling, performance tuning, migrations, and backup and recovery strategies.
- Investigate production issues and implement solutions for ordering, retries, idempotency, partial failures, and message delivery guarantees.
- Make pragmatic engineering decisions that support product delivery while maintaining stability, maintainability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders on architecture, infrastructure priorities, and technical decisions.
- Evaluate and adopt AI-powered development tools for coding, testing, builds, and deployment workflows.
