Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in data engineering, business data analysis, analytics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of property and casualty insurance processes, financial loss reporting, insurance data structures, and insurance analytics requirements.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience developing, maintaining, or enhancing Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Ability to gather stakeholder requirements, facilitate discussions, document business data stories, and produce functional specifications.
- Familiarity with source-to-target mapping, data warehouses, data marts, data structures, and data integration strategies.
- Understanding of data validation, business rules, data standards, quality assurance, and regulatory and compliance requirements in financial reporting.
- Experience supporting user acceptance testing, validating test scenarios, tracking defects, and confirming solutions meet requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts to business audiences and coordinating across teams.
- Ability to identify root causes, resolve data issues, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate moderately complex initiatives with limited day-to-day supervision.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document reporting and analytics requirements with stakeholders, subject matter experts, product owners, and technology teams.
- Translate business data stories into functional specifications, business plans, and technical documentation.
- Support source-to-target mapping, data integration initiatives, and the use of data marts and data warehouses.
- Contribute to SQL and Power BI reporting solutions, dashboards, and analytics products.
- Validate business rules, monitor data quality, troubleshoot discrepancies, and coordinate with technical teams.
- Support UAT planning and execution, track issues, and coordinate testing updates and approvals.
- Assist with data product certification and ensure solutions meet reporting standards and downstream consumption needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve data platforms, dashboards, reports, and integration processes.
- Apply data standards and practices to financial services transactions, reporting, and cloud-based data storage and sharing.
- Coordinate moderately complex data and analytics initiatives, maintain decision and approval records, and contribute to training and ongoing support.
