Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 10 years of hands-on software engineering and solution design experience in a technical environment.
- At least five years of people leadership experience, including leading engineering managers, architects, and software development teams.
- Experience across the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, validation, deployment, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of software validation in FDA-regulated environments, including 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, and E2B requirements.
- Extensive experience with the Microsoft .NET stack, including C#, Visual Studio, TFS/Azure DevOps, ASP.NET, WebForms, MVC, and web services/API development.
- Familiarity with React, Angular, and Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, and designing secure, scalable cloud-based solutions.
- Understanding of relational database management systems, particularly Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle.
- Experience with team development software, automated testing tools, CI/CD practices, and modern release management processes.
- Understanding of Agile software development principles, structured programming, and engineering best practices.
- Ability to establish development standards and processes and produce technical documentation.
- Flexibility to accommodate business needs and varying working hours.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of enterprise software solutions and platform capabilities.
- Build and manage a platform development team of software development managers, architects, and engineers.
- Assess enterprise platform components and define a phased modernization roadmap.
- Collaborate with business segment engineering teams to deliver reusable, scalable, and secure solutions.
- Participate in the software development lifecycle from requirements and solution design through implementation, validation, deployment, and support.
- Establish engineering standards, delivery practices, and readiness gates for progressing solutions from concept to production.
- Improve CI/CD, testing, deployment, release management, documentation, and operational support workflows.
- Guide responsible adoption of AI-assisted software development and machine learning capabilities.
- Partner with Information Security on code quality, dependencies, third-party risks, data handling, and secure deployment.
- Manage delivery risks, escalations, resources, and priorities across Agile engineering pipelines.
