Requirements
- Have experience teaching the target language, preferably at the university level, for learning-content projects.
- Have an exceptional understanding of the target language's grammar structure and English grammar.
- Have 1-2 years of experience editing or proofreading language materials for editor/proofreader projects.
- Have 1-2 years of experience translating or localizing language materials for translator/localization projects.
- Be a native or near-native speaker of the target language for editing or translation/localization projects.
- Be a native speaker of the target language for voice-over projects.
- Have attention to detail; voice-over artists must be able to take direction and be detail-oriented.
- Have basic to advanced PC skills and working knowledge or proficiency with MS Office products, depending on the project.
- Have experience using translation memory systems for translation/localization projects.
- Know current software application terminology for translation/localization projects.
- Be willing and able to learn new software applications, including recording software where applicable.
- Have access to appropriate recording equipment, such as a quality microphone or headset, for remote recording.
Responsibilities
- Create original language-learning content using provided guidelines.
- Proofread language-learning content and design leveled courses for beginning, intermediate, and advanced adult learners.
- Edit translations for flow, presentation, accuracy, and consistency.
- Correct typos, punctuation, and grammar, and suggest solutions or clarifications for issues.
- Translate text for specific target markets using provided templates.
- Localize software applications and web content.
- Record target-language text in the sound studio or remotely using the company's recording software.
