Requirements
- Have 3+ years of experience in low-level software engineering.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in C and/or C++.
- Have a solid understanding of security fundamentals.
- Have experience diagnosing and resolving issues in multithreaded, cross-platform native applications.
- Have experience addressing memory and performance challenges.
- Be familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Have an interest in or experience with Rust.
- Be able to work effectively within large, complex, multi-language codebases.
- Have experience working with distributed teams and communicating technical ideas clearly in writing and conversation.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and ship security features that strengthen Firefox’s security posture for enterprise users.
- Build privilege isolation and move trust boundaries across multiple operating systems.
- Improve Firefox security mechanisms, including cryptographic protocols, WebPKI, and security-sensitive web APIs.
- Investigate security issues across teams, identify root causes, and deliver robust, maintainable fixes.
- Diagnose and resolve stability, correctness, performance, and memory issues in a complex, multithreaded environment.
