Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).
- Be well versed in supporting web servers.
- Have a strong background with storage SAN, including NFS and iSCSI.
- Be well versed with the ELK stack: Elasticsearch, Kibana, Beats, and Logstash.
- Have experience adding and removing nodes, expanding and rebuilding clusters, and using InfluxDB.
- Know TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF.
- Have hands-on Linux systems administration experience.
- Have hands-on advanced network administration experience, including routing, switching, and security.
- Have experience with MySQL maintenance and troubleshooting, LAN/WAN/VPN, firewalls, cloud technologies, bare-metal hardware, load balancing, backups, and systems security.
- Have experience with automation systems such as Ansible or Puppet, and web technologies including HTTP, SSL, DNS, and SMTP.
Responsibilities
- Manage systems and networks and provide systems department oversight.
- Work with Development Team Leads and Project Management on website projects and approve production releases.
- Participate in website planning and project discussions with Senior Management.
- Assess system risks and recommend or implement changes.
- Monitor network and systems security and report concerns to the CTO.
- Design site network architecture, including capacity planning, infrastructure, software integration, and performance tuning.
- Act as the escalation point for production issues and coordinate their resolution.
- Manage risk through monitoring, redundancy, and backups.
- Provide technical assistance across company departments and mentor Systems Administration staff.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and perform special projects as assigned.
