- At least 2 years handling civil cases on the defense side, not for plaintiffs.
Requirements
- Be licensed to practice law in California and currently in good standing.
- Hold a law degree from an ABA-accredited school.
- Have at least 2 years of experience handling civil cases on the defense side, not for plaintiffs.
- Have a track record of independently managing a sizable docket of cases.
- Have hands-on experience taking and defending depositions.
- Have experience drafting motions and conducting discovery.
- Have clear writing and speaking skills and solid organizational habits for managing cases.
- Be comfortable working independently with little oversight.
- Be able to reach an annual target of 1,950 billable hours.
- Be based in California and available during Pacific hours.
Responsibilities
- Manage a docket of up to 20 matters from intake through resolution.
- Prepare pleadings, motions and written discovery requests.
- Take depositions and defend witnesses during depositions.
- Appear at hearings.
- Counsel clients on case strategy.
- Assist with mediations and trial preparation.
