Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience working at a similar level in a mature engineering team.
- Have technical expertise in at least one programming language; the team uses Python, Kotlin, and some Ruby.
- Ideally have experience with relational databases.
- A degree in a STEM subject is preferred, but an alternative route is welcome.
- Demonstrate impact in previous roles.
- Work proactively and independently to overcome challenges and drive outcomes.
- Maintain high standards and strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Define technical solutions to business problems and contribute to an architectural vision for the research platform.
- Build and ship working code, primarily for Kotlin microservices and backend services.
- Deploy frequently using CI/CD tools and gather customer feedback to guide iterations.
- Monitor services, catch errors, diagnose root causes, and deploy fixes.
- Take ownership of the services managed by the team and align their development with engineering strategy.
- Work with product managers, designers, and colleagues across the business to deliver code for internal and external customers.
- Mentor more junior engineers.
