Job Details

Have 10+ years building and operating cloud infrastructure and platforms.
Have served as the recognized technical authority for a platform used by other engineering teams.
Bring a background in SRE or platform engineering and ownership of systems other engineers build on.
Have production experience with AWS and/or Azure at multi-account, multi-environment scale.
Have strong Infrastructure as Code skills with Terraform, OpenTofu, or similar tools.
Have deep Kubernetes experience, including cluster management, multi-cluster operations, and platform abstractions.
Have hands-on production experience with GitOps deployment models such as ArgoCD, Flux, or equivalent.
Have hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and agentic coding tools.
Understand how regulatory and accreditation constraints shape architecture, including environments where continuous delivery does not apply.
Be able to program in Python, Go, or similar languages.
Have a track record of getting architecture adopted across teams through influence.
Be able to connect technical decisions to cost, delivery, and product outcomes.
Have excellent written communication skills for design documents and RFCs.
Hold a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, or have equivalent experience.

Drive technical decisions and systems architecture across multiple organizations.
Own the platform reference architecture across AWS and Azure and commercial, regulated, and sovereign environments.
Translate company strategy into area-level technical strategy and communicate options and tradeoffs to leadership.
Lead architecture for ingress and API gateway, authentication and authorization, SSO and RBAC, and service-to-service communication.
Design repeatable provisioning for regions, accredited environments, and customer tenants.
Set standards for infrastructure as code, GitOps, Kubernetes configuration, and release engineering.
Create and run design review and other forums to align senior engineers and track delivery and quality.
Partner with product, implementation, and finance stakeholders to validate approaches, costs, and implementation options.
Write and prototype platform components and proofs of concept, and partner with Security and Compliance on accreditation requirements.
Mentor engineers, participate in hiring, and represent Altana's technical work with customers, partners, and the wider industry.
