Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field from a US school.
- Have at least 1 year of math teaching experience and/or experience working in a community college or college-level tutoring center.
- Demonstrate a high-achievement academic history, such as a 3.5+ GPA.
- Be proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.
- Have reliable internet access and a dedicated, quiet workspace.
- Bring a robust understanding of classroom pedagogy and the ability to create customized, engaging lesson plans.
- Demonstrate mastery of SAT and ACT Math, especially Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics.
- A master’s degree or higher is preferred; candidates nearing graduation are considered.
Responsibilities
- Teach small groups of students math core skills to support long-term mastery and strong ACT/SAT scores.
- Monitor student progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.
- Provide individualized growth and improvement opportunities for students.
- Maintain and update student lesson schedules on the online platform.
- Reply to students in a timely manner and hold them accountable for assignments.
- Develop and creatively execute evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
- Mentor middle and high school students as they navigate college preparation.
