Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field from a US school.
- Have 1+ years of math teaching experience and/or experience working in a community college or college-level tutoring center.
- Have an academic history demonstrating high achievement, such as a 3.5+ GPA.
- Be proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.
- Have access to a reliable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace.
- Demonstrate a robust understanding of classroom pedagogy and create customized, engaging lesson plans.
- Have mastery of SAT and ACT Math, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics.
Responsibilities
- Teach small groups of students core math skills to build long-term mastery and support ACT/SAT scores.
- Monitor student progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.
- Provide individualized growth and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain and update student lesson schedules on the online platform.
- Reply to students in a timely manner and hold them accountable for assignments.
- Develop and creatively execute lesson plans and curriculum.
- Mentor middle and high school students as they navigate college preparation.
