Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field from a US school.
- Have at least one year of math teaching experience and/or experience working in a community college or college-level tutoring center.
- Demonstrate high academic achievement, such as a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Be proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G Suite.
- Have reliable internet access and a dedicated, quiet workspace.
- Demonstrate a robust understanding of classroom pedagogy and the ability to create customized, engaging lesson plans.
- Have mastery of SAT and ACT Math, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics.
- A master’s degree or higher is preferred; candidates nearing graduation are considered.
Responsibilities
- Teach small core groups of students in math skills to build long-term mastery and support ACT and SAT scores.
- Monitor student progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum and provide individualized growth opportunities.
- Reply to students in a timely manner and maintain and update lesson schedules on the online platform.
- Hold students accountable for assignments.
- Develop and creatively execute lesson plans and curriculum.
- Mentor middle and high school students as they navigate college preparation.
