Have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience developing enterprise backend systems.
Have experience with Java, Kotlin, or comparable JVM languages and Spring Boot.
Have a track record designing, deploying, and maintaining high-scale distributed systems and RESTful APIs.
Have experience working in an AWS cloud-native environment.
Bring hands-on experience with relational or non-relational databases, caching mechanisms, and asynchronous message brokers.
Apply modern testing practices across the testing pyramid and treat test automation as essential to shipping software.
Have practical experience leveraging AI coding tools, LLMs, or AI agents to improve problem-solving, code quality, or engineering velocity.
Be willing to attend occasional department onsites and company events.
Nice to have: familiarity with graph database modeling, event-driven architectures, or multi-tenant SaaS application design.
Nice to have: experience with Docker, Terraform, and GitLab CI, or applying infrastructure-as-code practices.

Design and build high-throughput backend services, core platform APIs, and distributed data stores for multi-tenant Risk Cloud capabilities.
Write unit, integration, and service-level tests.
Partner with DevOps to evolve cloud infrastructure and automated CI/CD pipelines.
Monitor operational metrics, tracing, and alerts in Datadog to diagnose bottlenecks and maintain platform health.
Optimize database query performance.
Facilitate technical design reviews and decompose complex epics with Product and Design teams.
Mentor engineers across squads to elevate code quality and execution.
Use AI coding assistants, LLMs, and developer automation tools to streamline workflows, refactor legacy patterns, and accelerate feature delivery.
