Requirements
- Bring 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles.
- Have strong programming skills in at least one general-purpose language, ideally Java or Kotlin, and a track record of shipping and reviewing production code.
- Have strong experience operating production systems on AWS.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Kubernetes in production.
- Have experience with infrastructure as code, such as AWS CDK or Terraform, and Helm.
- Have experience building CI/CD pipelines; GitHub Actions is preferred.
- Have experience with monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic.
- Apply security-first practices, including least-privilege access, secrets management, and network security.
- Be comfortable with on-call and incident response.
- Have hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools in daily work and the judgment to review their output.
- Be comfortable working with high autonomy and ambiguity in a fast-moving, remote startup.
- Have clear written communication skills; most collaboration is async.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and evolve Kubernetes-based infrastructure on AWS, using AWS CDK for provisioning and Helm/kubectl for workload deployments.
- Build and improve deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions.
- Write and ship production code across infrastructure as code, internal tooling, and application services.
- Own observability with New Relic, including dashboards, alerting, and SLOs for critical payment flows.
- Operate and scale managed services, including CloudAMQP, MongoDB Atlas, and PostgreSQL.
- Manage secrets, access controls, and identity infrastructure.
- Design for high availability and disaster recovery, and lead incident response and postmortems.
- Optimize AWS cost and performance.
- Partner with engineering and compliance on security controls and audit readiness.
