Requirements
- Hands-on experience writing and modularizing infrastructure as code with Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Deep familiarity with GitHub, including pull requests, code review, and GitHub Actions workflows.
- Experience building and running production infrastructure on GCP or AWS.
- Strong programming skills in an object-oriented language such as Python or TypeScript.
- Experience designing alerting and monitoring structures and owning systems when they fail.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with object-relational mapping (ORM) tools is a bonus.
- Experience building AI agents, skills, or workflows for code writing and review is a bonus.
- Agency, startup, marketing technology, or SaaS company experience is a bonus.
- Experience in an on-call rotation for production systems is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Own and modularize data platform infrastructure using Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Manage platform permissions and access, including secure access to data through agentic tooling.
- Build and maintain cloud services, including BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage.
- Automate onboarding processes for clients, data sources, and reports.
- Design and maintain GitHub Actions pipelines with automated tests, multi-stage deployments, and review gates.
- Participate in pull requests and code reviews across the engineering team.
- Build alerting, monitoring, and logging systems, and own response when platform systems fail.
- Define process KPIs and thresholds for reviewing, auditing, or retiring tooling.
- Integrate coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex into engineering workflows while owning code quality, security, and reliability.
- Partner with Data Engineering Leads and the Director of Engineering to shape the platform roadmap.
