Requirements
- Hold an MD or DO degree.
- Hold an active, unrestricted New Jersey medical license.
- Be able to meet medical-director qualifications for each assigned program.
- Have documented addiction-medicine or addiction-psychiatry qualifications and experience appropriate to assigned services.
- Have experience with outpatient clinical leadership, electronic documentation, and quality assurance.
- Have appropriate DEA and New Jersey controlled-substance credentials when required for assigned duties.
- Be eligible for payer participation and have appropriate malpractice arrangements before engagement.
- Psychiatry board certification or eligibility is preferred.
- New Jersey facility licensing and Medicaid enrollment experience are preferred.
- Outpatient, IOP, and residential addiction leadership experience is preferred.
- Experience working with psychiatric nurse practitioners is preferred.
- Child and adolescent experience is preferred where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Review proposed services and patient age groups.
- Develop admission criteria, clinical policies, medication protocols, and emergency and referral procedures.
- Support clinical recruitment.
- Provide credentials for medical-director designation and payer enrollment.
- Establish appropriate supervision or collaboration arrangements.
- Maintain agreed clinical availability.
- Provide medical leadership, chart review, virtual case conferences, and consultation with treating clinicians.
- Conduct quality improvement and support clinical planning and licensing documentation.
