Experience
5-7+ years of relevant legal experience

Requirements

  • Have 5-7+ years of relevant legal experience; in-house experience is strongly preferred.
  • Hold a J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Maintain active membership in good standing with at least one state bar.
  • Be familiar with the legal risks and business issues of an enterprise SaaS environment.
  • Manage a high volume of work autonomously.
  • Translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice and make quick, risk-adjusted decisions.
  • Preferred: advise People/HR teams on employment lifecycle matters.
  • Preferred: manage corporate litigation or pre-litigation dispute resolution alongside outside counsel.
  • Preferred: counsel businesses whose SaaS platforms connect with physical products.
  • Preferred: support supply chain operations, including logistics and shipping.
  • Preferred: manage capitalization tables and employee equity programs using platforms such as Carta.

Responsibilities

  • Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, including enterprise SaaS, strategic partnership, and vendor contracts.
  • Advise Product and Engineering teams throughout product development, including regulatory, intellectual property, and contractual matters supporting go-to-market launches.
  • Translate privacy frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA into operational practices, conduct impact assessments, and negotiate data processing agreements.
  • Oversee corporate compliance programs, establish internal policies and targeted training, and conduct strategic vendor audits.
  • Develop scalable legal workflows, automated self-service templates, and cross-functional playbooks.
  • Support the General Counsel on special projects, ad-hoc legal matters, and strategic initiatives.
