Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
- At least 1 year of project management experience.
- ASCP or AMT Certification.
- Blood Bank/Transfusion Services experience in an acute care hospital or health system laboratory is strongly preferred, including Blood Bank workflows, regulatory requirements, validations, testing, and LIS functionality.
- Experience working in an acute care hospital or integrated health system laboratory environment is preferred.
- Experience with major hospital LIS platforms such as Epic Beaker, SoftLab/SoftBank, Cerner Millennium, or comparable systems is preferred.
- Experience participating in user acceptance testing (UAT), defect resolution, and post-implementation system optimization is preferred.
- Experience supporting Hospital Laboratory Information System (LIS) implementations, upgrades, workflow analysis, validations, testing activities, and go-live support is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including evaluating laboratory data, identifying trends, and developing actionable recommendations.
- Familiarity with LIS, EHR, instrument, and middleware interfaces, including troubleshooting and workflow optimization.
- Knowledge of laboratory regulatory and accreditation requirements and their impact on system design, testing, validation, and operational workflows.
- Work Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple high-priority projects and programs that support business growth and innovation.
- Collaborate across departments to align project outcomes with strategic goals.
- Build work plans, drive milestones, and provide updates to stakeholders.
- Define project scope and objectives, break complex projects into tasks, and set goals and timeframes.
- Plan budgets and resources, forecast needs, track costs, and manage timelines and deliverables.
- Lead cross-functional teams and vendors, resolve conflicts, guide prioritization, and mentor peers.
- Communicate project status through updates, documentation, presentations, and reports to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Analyze workflows, performance metrics, and business needs to identify gaps and improve processes and decision-making.
