Requirements
- Have at least 3 years of experience in healthcare, pharmacy operations, oncology, medication access, specialty pharmacy, healthcare project management, or a related field.
- Hold a bachelor's degree; a healthcare-related discipline is preferred.
- A master's degree is preferred.
- Understand pharmacy operations, medication-use processes, and healthcare delivery workflows.
- Bring experience coordinating projects, managing concurrent workstreams, establishing timelines, and taking initiatives from planning through implementation; prior project management experience is strongly preferred.
- Have experience identifying operational inefficiencies, improving workflows, and implementing sustainable process improvements.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is preferred.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and/or prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
- Have strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as project management tools and analytical resources.
- Be able to interpret performance data, identify trends, assess operational challenges, and translate findings into practical recommendations.
- Have written and verbal communication skills for explaining operational concepts and project updates to clinical, operational, and executive audiences.
- Be able to work with multidisciplinary teams, manage competing priorities, and work in a matrixed environment with evolving priorities and some ambiguity.
- Be able to travel up to 15% as needed.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate strategic pharmacy initiatives, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams using project management, performance improvement, and change management methodologies.
- Design, refine, and standardize workflows and operational frameworks for launching, optimizing, and scaling pharmacy services.
- Work with pharmacy leaders, pharmacists, technicians, physicians, nursing teams, and operational leaders to assess processes and implement improvements.
- Support initiatives involving specialty pharmacy, medication access, oral oncology medications, infusion pharmacy operations, cellular therapy, and supportive care.
- Monitor program performance and key performance indicators, identify operational gaps, and develop improvement plans.
- Develop project plans, implementation checklists, timelines, and workstreams, and coordinate resources against objectives, budgets, and deadlines.
- Assess pharmacy programs, technologies, workflows, and vendor partnerships through research, business analysis, and due diligence.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, workflow documentation, training resources, best practices, and implementation toolkits.
- Research oncology pharmacy developments, regulatory requirements, reimbursement considerations, and emerging industry practices.
- Coordinate pharmacy committees, workgroups, and related organizational activities.
