Job Details

Bring extensive practical experience using AI.
Have used coding agents to turn ideas into working tools and take projects from problem definition to deployment.
Translate needs into clear specifications, break work into manageable tasks, and assess design trade-offs.
Understand how systems fit together and direct agents to implement them; writing code yourself is not required.
Apply product judgment by considering users’ needs, interactions, and less common cases.
Be resourceful and adaptable when exploring unfamiliar problems and learning new tools.
Have an aptitude for teaching and coaching, adapting explanations to people’s experience and helping them use AI independently.
Work autonomously, set priorities, and follow through reliably.
Understand and share Epoch’s mission.
Have professional-level English proficiency.

Own the portfolio of AI automations, keeping production systems running, fixing failures, and retiring automations that no longer justify their maintenance.
Build automations for operations, communications, and research support, involving colleagues in testing and refinement.
Prioritize automation opportunities by estimating their value to the organization.
Run Claude in Slack, its integrations, and shared staff skills and prompts.
Review new AI tools and models, recommend those worth adopting, and oversee AI tool spending.
Help staff use AI through onboarding, practical written guidance, and one-to-one support.
Document how automations work and are maintained, and ensure Epoch controls their accounts and access.
Maintain the automations dashboard and report on workflow changes and their effects.
