Requirements
- Have a BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, or a bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field with at least 5 years of professional experience.
- Have 5+ years of DevOps experience, including 3+ years using Azure core services.
- Have experience installing, configuring, and managing database platforms and Azure-managed database services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and MongoDB Atlas.
- Demonstrate expertise with configuration management tools such as Terraform, Azure Bicep, and Azure Resource Manager templates.
- Have a strong understanding of Azure billing and cost modelling.
- Have experience with build and release automation tools and methodologies; TeamCity experience is a plus.
- Be able to design, deploy, monitor, and manage Kubernetes-based systems.
- Understand microservice architecture and how it is implemented in Azure.
- Have strong scripting and automation skills.
- Have hands-on experience troubleshooting, securing, and improving manually configured Azure environments.
- Have experience with Application Performance Monitoring and log aggregation at scale.
- Have experience supporting application development teams working in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban environments.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage infrastructure using automation tools such as Terraform.
- Provide day-to-day operational support for applications on Azure.
- Work with development teams to integrate projects into production and test Azure environments and support them ongoing.
- Lead efforts with internal teams to incorporate security, reliability, and scalability into the development lifecycle.
- Build engineering automation and productivity tools to streamline and scale production applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application development, deployment, and operations issues.
- Architect and implement reliable, scalable infrastructure services on Azure.
- Serve in an on-call rotation as an escalation contact for critical production issues.
